Itinerary

  • Day 01 Arrive Delhi – Bharatpur Meals: Dinner Arrive Delhi in the morning at 0635 hrs. Transfer to Bharatpur. Your birding guide will meet you upon arrival at the hotel. Afternoon birding in Bharatpur with your guide. Overnight stay at Hotel.
  • Day 02 : Bharatpur – Chambal Meals: Breakfast, lunch in Bharatpur and dinner in Chambal Morning birding in Bharatpur with your guide. After lunch, drive to National Chambal Sanctuary. Afternoon birding around the lodge with your lodge birding guide. Overnight stay at Chambal SafariLodge. The birds to expect are Indian Courser, Sarus Crane, Dusky eagle Owl, Large tailed Nightjars, Common Pochard, Great white Pelican, Greylag and Bar headed Goose
  • Day 03: Chambal – Agra – Overnight train Meals: Breakfast and lunch in Chambal Morning boat cruise with your guide to see Indian skimmer, black-bellied tern, flocks of migratory waterfowl, cranes such as common, demoiselle and sarus; fish-eating crocodile and marshmugger; Gangetic dolphin; turtles etc. After lunch, transfer to Agra to connect overnight train to Katni in the evening (1851 hrs / Gondwana Express). Overnight in train.
  • Day 04: Katni – Bandhavgarh Meals: Lunch and dinner Arrive Katni in the morning (0515 hrs). You will be met and transferred to Monsoon Forest in Bandhavgarh. Afternoon jeep safari to Bandhavgarh National Park (Tala Zone) fortiger tracking, wildlife viewing and birding. Overnight stay at Monsoon Forest.
  • Day 05: Bandhavgarh National Park Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Morning (Tala Zone ) and afternoon (Magadhi Zone / all six in one gypsy) jeep safaris to Bandhavgarh National Park for tiger tracking, wildlife viewing and birding. Overnightstay at Monsoon Forest.
  • Day 06: Bandhavgarh – Kanha National Park Meals: Breakfast Bandhavgarh, packed lunch and dinner in Kanha Morning Bird Walk around the lodge as National Park is now closed for safaris on every Wednesday. After late breakfast, drive to Kanha with packed lunch(6 hours). Arrive Kanha in the afternoon /evening. Overnight stay at Tuli Tiger Resort
  • Day 07: Kanha National Park Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Morning (Kanha Zone) and afternoon (Kanha Zone / all six in one gypsy) jeep safaris to Kanha National Park for tiger tracking, wildlife viewing and birding.. Overnight stay atTuli Tiger Resort.
  • Day 08: Kanha – Nagpur – Mumbai Meals: Breakfast & packed lunch Enjoy final morning jeep safari (Kisli Zone) to Kanha National Park. Afternoon transfer to Nagpur airport to connect flight to Mumbai. Arrive Mumbai . You will be met and transferred to the hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel Airport International.
  • Day 09: Mumbai – Rajkot – Gir Meals: Breakfast in Mumbai Hotel, lunch and dinner in Gir Connect morning flight to Rajkot Arrive Rajkote a. You will be met and transferred to Gir National Park (3.5 hours). Afternoon jeep safari to the national park for wildlife viewing. Overnight stay at Gir Birding Lodge.
  • Day 10: Gir Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Morning and afternoon jeep safaris to the national park for wildlife viewing. Overnight stay at Gir Birding Lodge
  • Day 11: Gir – Little Rann of Kutch Meals: Breakfast in Gir, lunch and dinner in Little Rann Of Kutch After breakfast, drive to little Rann of Kutch. Arrive Rann Riders in the afternoon. This safari resort is imaginatively designed using local materials and has extensive grounds with a water-body,ponds, gardens, plantations and agricultural fields. Red necked falcon, shikra, blue throat, rosy starling, black ibis, white pelican, grey and pond heron, pied, common and white-throated kingfisher,and other birds come into the property. After lunch, depart for a drive in the Little Rann of Kutch, a sanctuary for the Indian wild ass. An ancient seabed turned by geological forces into saline desertplains, the Rann has grassy patches that offer good bird-watching.Crested and Sykes larks, Oriental skylark, bimaculated lark, greater short-toed lark, singing and Indian bushlarks, ashy-crowned and black-crowned sparrow-larks, are likely sightings and greater hoopoe lark is possible. Desert and variable wheatears, southern grey, long-tailed, rufous-tailed and bay-back shrike, common woodshrike are also likely sightings and the desert warbler is among the many winter visiting warblers.We will also look for chestnut-bellied and spotted sandgrouse, Indian courser (cream- coloured visits occasionally), quails, yellow-legged and barred buttonquails, grey francolin, wryneck, brown-rock chat, pied bushchat, rufous-tailed scrub robin, blue-headed rock thrush, black redstart and buntings in the scrubby areas. At sunset, it is possible to watch marsh, Montagu and pallid harriers, aquila eagles, falcons and buzzards heading for their roosting sites. Among the mammals of the Rann other than the wild ass, there are chances of seeing nilgai, chinkara gazelle, white-footed desert and Indian foxes, the wolf, jungle cat (occasionally also desert cat), pale and long-eared hedgehogs and hare. Overnight stay at Raan Riders.
  • Day 12: Little Rann of Kutch Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Morning drive to the bets, elevated patches in the Rann covered with scrub and grass. In winter, this is a likely area for Macqueen’s bustard. Long-legged, common and white-eyed buzzard, booted eagle, Bonneli’s eagle. short-toed snake eagle, are often seen during the drive. Evening visit to Nawa Talao, a lake where demmossile and common cranes gather in large flocks during the winter months.Greater and lesser flamingo are seen in large numbers as are great white pelican with spotbilled and dalmatian recorded. Painted, openbill, wooly-necked, white, black and black-necked stork could be seen as also black, glossy and black-headed ibis. Northern pintail, common teal, spot-billed duck, mallard, gadwall, wigeon, garganey, shoveler, cotton pygmy goose, pochards, tufted duck, lesser whistling duck, brahminy and comb duck are among the many visitors to the lake. Waders include pratincoles, lapwings, sandpipers, ruff and other birds in good numbers.
  • Day 13 : Little Rann of Kutch – Bhuj Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Morning drive to Bhuj. Afternoon birding in Bhuj. Overnight stay at CEDO Camp.
  • Day 14: Great Rann of Kutch Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Full day birding in Great Rann of Kutch. Overnight stay at CEDO Camp.
  • Day 15: Great Rann of Kutch Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Full day birding in Great Rann of Kutch. Overnight stay at CEDO Camp.
  • Day 16: Bhuj – Mumbai – Delhi Meals: Breakfast Morning birding Bhuj. Later transfer to Bhuj airport to connect flight to Mumbai . Arrive Mumbai. Connect flight to Delhi aArrive Delhi at . Transfer to Hotel Star Grand Villa for overnight stay.
  • Day 17: Delhi – Departure Meals: Breakfast Transfer to airport to connect flight to Finland. Tour ends.
